    Part Time Lecturers (for Ph.D., Masters, Undergraduate, Diploma and Certificate Courses)

    Requirements for the position of Lecturer

    • An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized University; and be registerable with relevant professional body (where applicable).

    OR

    • A Masters degree in relevant field from an accredited and recognized University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level or in research or in industry; and
    • A minimum of twenty four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from referred journal papers; and
    • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable)

    Deputy Finance Officer

    ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION

    Grade 14-

    Ref: MUT 7/07/18

    Job Summary and Responsibility

    Ensure quality accounting and advisory services; bank reconciliation; computerisation of accounting systems; assist in monitoring revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets; assist in application of sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs; supervise special funds including donor, programmes and projects funds; assist in application of GAAPs including the IFRS techniques in accounting for University’s finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs; management of accounting information which includes co-ordination and rationalization of estimates, budgetary control, annual appropriation and fund account, cash flow control and cost analysis; assist in budgeting process; prepare final accounts and responses to audit queries and sourcing of external auditors on donor funds where applicable.

    • Receive and maintain all the cheque books except those for main deposits bank accounts.
    • Keep and maintain cash books for all bank accounts except those for main deposits bank accounts.
    • Receive and record all processed payment vouchers from the vote book section.
    • Write cheques for all approved payment vouchers for formal signatures.
    • Prepare a daily summary of cheque payments to be submitted to the Finance Officer on daily basis.
    • To prepare and submit an age list of all unpaid suppliers and creditors.
    • To seek approval from the Finance Officer before any cheque is written.
    • To ensure all approved and signed cheques are released to the recipients as soon as possible with the permission of the Finance Officer.
    • Any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor and management

    Requirements

    • PhD degree in relevant field and CPA (K)

    OR

    • MBA (Accounting/Finance option) or its equivalent plus CPA(K) or its equivalent.
    • Twelve (12) years’ experience, three (3) of which must have been as a Senior Accountant grade 13
    • Be a member of a recognized Professional Accounting body
    • Have outstanding professional competence in Financial Management
    • Demonstrated high administrative capabilities
    • Must be computer literate (Accounting packages)

    Assistant Registrar (Iso And Performance Contract)

    Grade 12

    Ref: MUT 8/07/18

    Job Summary and Responsibility

    Plan and coordinate ISO and Performance Contracting (PC) activities within the directorate; assist in budgeting, and ensure effective utilization of allocated resources; supervise staff in the directorate; assist in interpretation of ISO and Performance contracting requirement and targets; assist in Staff sensitization on ISO and PC matters; carry out regular internal ISO audits, collate PC evidence as per the set targets; any other related responsibilities as may be prescribed from time to from supervisor.

    Requirements for appointment

    • Masters degree in relevant field plus 6 years administrative experience
    • Member of a recognized professional administration or management body
    • Must have served as a Senior Administrative Assistant or equivalent for three (3) years in ISO and performance contracting department/directorate
    • Must have undertaken lead auditor training in ISO 9001:2015 Standard
    • Must have training undertaken training in performance contracting management
    • Must be computer literate
