    Associate Programme Management Officer

    Job Details

    • Programme Management: Works with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of a new Global Environment Fund electric mobility programme, a new air quality project and non-motorized transport projects at regional, country, cities and urban areas levels, etc.; monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and recommends corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions. Carries out basic research on selected aspects of air quality and mobility programmes, operations and other activities, etc., to include collecting, analyzing and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources. Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions, including the review and analysis of emerging issues and trends, participation in evaluations or research activities and studies. Participates in survey initiatives; assists with design of data collection tools; issues data collection tools, reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions. Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
    • Programme Administration: Assists in performing consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change. Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc. Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
    • Finance and Budgeting: Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.), supports fundraising for activities and programs, and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
    • Participates in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, etc.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Job Requirement

    • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, transport or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management is required.
    • A minimum of one-year experience at the international level working with developing countries and in the regions of Africa and Asia is required,.
    • Substantive knowledge of, and technical and practical expertise in environment, clean transport, clean fuels and vehicles and/or non-motorized transport projects and programmes is desirable.
    • Experience dealing with large international donor institutions (proposal writing, project reporting, budget supervision etc.) is an asset.

    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

    Public Information Officer (Graphic Designer)

    Responsibilities

    • Roster and Long Term Arrangement (LTAs) development and management: Develop and manage high quality rosters of, and long-term arrangements with, individual and institutional service providers for all aspects of graphic design production that is relevant to a wide range of projects and budgets, and positioned to deliver excellent graphic design products on a turnkey basis. Oversee the production of graphic outputs and ensure quality control measures that enhance UNEP's visibility and promote the environmental agenda.
    • Style and quality control, design workflow and management: In line with the brand guidelines of the organization and in close coordination with the Brand Building Section, plan, monitor, and create graphic design standards and controls and ensure that UNEP's graphics are of a high international standard. Design comprehensive workflows for tasks as well as assignment management.
    • Gaphic Design: Produce design collateral's and provide direction to the work of the Graphic Design Unit, including strategic guidance for the unit's clients, ensuring effective integration of graphics and design elements in the broader conceptualization and planning of communication interventions. Execute strategy, bringing state of the art practices, techniques, technologies and approaches to bear on the organizations graphic design work. Contribute to the formulation of policies, protocols and procedures to streamline graphic design production and work flows and manage the human and other resources of the unit. Manage internal and external resources for the relevant work of the unit, the section, and the division.
    • Environmental and exhibit design advisor: Provide guidance to colleagues in the design and management of environment and exhibition design that have high visual and communication
      impact.
    • Explore and present conceptual ideas for a cohesive, coherent and creative branding of the relevant exhibitions incorporating the visual identity elements of the event. Coordinate
      the work of UNEP contractors to ensure accurate and consistent execution of designs as approved by UNEP through to full completion and dismantling post-event.
    • Perform other duties as prescribed by the Section Chief or the Office of the Director.

    Education
