Mobile Application Developer at Asante Financial Services Group

Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

The Mobile App Developer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of Android and iPhone apps within Asante Finance Group. The developer will lead the entire app lifecycle right from the concept stage until delivery and post-launch support. Asante Apps will be closely interlinked with external systems, including but not limited to core banking solutions, business automation tools, and web-enabled systems. In addition to delivering the product, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in driving the mobile strategy in Kenya and the rest of the Pan Africa markets.

Main Responsibilities

• Acting as lead iOS and/ or Android developer
• Working closely with Asante Finance strategic IT vendors to design and build mobile App solutions
• In liaison with the strategic IT vendors, deliver across the entire app life cycle –concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
• Work directly with key stakeholders eg. Product Managers to conceptualize, build, test, and realize products
• Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions
• Build prototypes at the tech scoping stage of projects
• Working along the Engineering team to create and maintain a robust framework to support the apps, post-deployment
• Working with the Backed end developer and other Engineers to build the critical interface with a focus on usability features
• Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences
• Standardizing the platform and in some cases apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effort
• Optimizing performance for the apps

Essential skills:

IOS

• Strong OO design and programming skills in Objective-C
• Familiar with iOS SDK (UIKit, Cocoa Touch, Core Data, Core Location, etc)
• Familiar with Xcode

Android

• Experience with Flutterwave and Dart frameworks is a must
• Strong OO design and programming skills in Java (J2EE/ J2ME)
• Familiar with the Android SDK
• Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system
• Experience with memory management and caching mechanisms specific to mobile devices
• Experience working with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics, and Core Text

Good To Have:

· Experience in Payment gateway integration in mobile apps is a big plus

· A portfolio of iOS/Android apps in the Play Store/app store is a plus

· Hands-on experience with Android studio & Gradle build system

· Gitlab 

· UI & UX experience

· Locations and Map API's
