Responsibilities for the Fitter Job

• As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will report to the Fixed Plant Fitter Supervisor. You will be required to carry out preventative maintenance and provide accurate and timely feedback on the plant and equipment within the boundaries of Base Titanium properties.
• Ensuring safe use, inspection, testing and repairs of equipment in accordance with Base policies and procedures
• Carrying out trouble shooting, fault finding and corrective maintenance of plant equipment
• Working within a team to ensure high levels of equipment availability
• Recording all work done and parts used in the work order system
• Ensuring Fixed Plant Supervisors and other stakeholders are kept informed of equipment availability status
• Ensuring effective shift handover

Fitter Job Qualifications

• A Trade Certificate 1 in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
• A strong commitment to safety
• The ability to work as a team member
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of Plant and Equipment
• The ability to produce work of a very high standard
• Excellent communication skills & a working knowledge of English and Kiswahili
• A ‘can do’ attitude
• A current Kenyan Driver’s License
