    Department: Editorial Department
    Job Grade: KYEB 3

    Associate Editor Job Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in formulating and managing implementation of plans for achievements of publication targets in close consultation with the Production Manager;
    • Assist in Developing and implementing a comprehensive training program for the editorial staff;
    • Determine fiscal requirements for the department, including the equipment and facilities necessary for the smooth operation of the editorial and publishing activities;
    • Manage the editorial staff reporting to you in all aspects, including motivation, training, recruitment and selection; recommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, transfers, promotion and annual leave schedules;
    • Contribute to strategic planning and development as a member of executive team;
    • Supervise and develop staff in the section.
    • Participate in development of the Department’s Work plan and budget;
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sectional reports
    • Participate in departmental meetings
    • Ensure quality control and customer service

    Minimum Academic Qualifications for the Associate Editor Job

    • Degree in journalism or a related field from a recognized university

    Associate Editor Job Professional Qualifications

    • Diploma in journalism from a recognised institution/body
    • At least 7 (Seven) years relevant experience in a reputable publishing firm;
