    Job Scale 1, Terms of employment: 3 Year Contract

    Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Strategic Advise -Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future. Provide leadership to senior management and staff. 
    • Business planning-Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities 
    • Coordination and Supervision –Serve as a link between the Board and the management. Delegate responsibilities, coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization to drive maximum performance 
    • Financial - Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for internal financial controls the financial well-being of the company. 
    • Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures. 
    • Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance. 
    • Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, storage, pricing and distribution of water. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary. 
    • Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions. Be responsible for the execution and communication of the Board’s strategies, decisions and policies. 
    • Sales, Marketing and Customer Service - Manage customer support. Plan and support sales and marketing activities.
    • Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans. 
    • Company Policies -Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times Education, 

    Professional Qualifications and Work Experience

    • MSc Business Administration, MSc Project Management, Master’s in Business Management/Administration or Master of science in Engineering plus additional qualification in Management or any other relevant field from a recognized university will be preferred; 
    • Membership in a professional organization 
    • Have a minimum of 10 years in management at a senior level in a busy and well established organization; 
    • Knowledge of labour laws and human resource principles and practices 
    • Knowledge and experience of the water sectors and related laws 
    • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management 
    • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices 
    • Training in Governance , prudent financial and accounting management 
    • Knowledge of project management principles and practices 
    • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications 
    • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans 
    • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation skills and outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities 

    Key skills and Competencies

    • Critical thinking and problem solving skills 
    • Strong management, negotiation and report writing skills; 
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Planning and organizing 
    • Good decision-making skills 
    • Good conflict management ability
