Key Responsibilities for the HIV Testing & Linkages Advisor Job

• Provide technical advice and oversight for implementation of HIV testing Services and Linkage
• Develop strategies for delivery of targeted HIV testing services and linkage
• Undertake program supervision, monitoring and evaluation
• Provide mentorship and regularly update HTC service providers on HTC guidelines and support them to adhere to standard protocols
• Prepare and submit regular program work plans and reports on Afya Pwani HTC activities
• Work with other regular staff to strengthen implementation of integrated HTC services
• Develop innovative approaches and systems for linkage and retention with the aim of achieving “90-90-90”
• Monitor all the relevant HTC services including quality control of HTC services
• Collaboration and CASCOs and other relevant stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and monitoring of the first “90:
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports of all activities & forward the same to the Snr. Technical Advisor, Care Treatment.
• Liaise with the facility and community teams to strengthen targeted HTC services.
• Participate in support supervision of HTC services.
• Perform any other duty assigned by the Supervisor

HIV Testing & Linkages Advisor Job Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology will be an added advantage
• Training in Voluntary HIV counseling, Adherence Counseling, Couple Counseling and Community HIV counseling and testing required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing and managing HIV Counseling Services
• Up to date with latest developments in HIV Prevention programming in general
• Good community mobilization skills
• Ability to prioritize work according to importance and deadline while meeting conflicting work demands
• Possesses initiative, patience, tact, and able to work with minimum supervision
• Able to work under pressure
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility in all aspects of working.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and support others in their work.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet etc.
