    Interns

    Purpose of Internship:

    We invite applications from skilled and motivated young Kenyans to serve as intern at Twaweza. The purpose of the internship is to provide assistance and support to the public policy and engagement unit. Anticipated support will include mobilization of stakeholders (media, CSOs, policymakers) and communication of findings from Sauti za
    Wananchi and Uwezo initiatives. The intern will be given specific tasks and responsibilities, which will include but not limited to the following;

    1. Participate in the compilation of list, invitation and follow up of target stakeholders for Sauti za Wananchi and Uwezo Kenya events
    2. Undertake research and provide background information on Sauti za Wananchi and Uwezo findings
    3. Participate in the preparation and editing of Uwezo and Sauti za Wananchi products 
    4. Support the writing of creative and informative articles on matters relevant to Twaweza’s work
    5. Represent the PPE Department in meetings deemed appropriate and provide feedback on such meetings
    6. Assist in the execution of administrative and logistical activities, including booking events venues, distribution of Twaweza research products, follow up with suppliers and
      drafting of meeting reports, among others.
    7. Assist in the monitoring of Twaweza Kenya social pages for comments, informational requests and feedback
    8. Assist in the monitoring and  compilation of Twaweza coverage in the media and development of quarterly media reports 

    What we offer 

    Twaweza does not offer any remuneration for its internships. It gives an exciting work environment, modern office space, lunch and a modest allowance to cover local travel. 
    The intern is wholly responsible for all other expenses, including health insurance, accommodation and incidentals.

    Requirements: 

    We are interested in recruiting interns with degrees in Communication, Education, Public Policy/Administration, Sociology, Political Science or any other relevant social science and humanities degree. Knowledge, interest and experience with policy advocacy and communication activities  will  be  an  added  advantage, but is not a requirement.

    Method of Application
