Ward Clerk at Aga Khan University Hospital

Job Summary

• Provide administrative and clerical support to the medical ward nursing team;
• File all diagnostic reports in patients’ files in chronological order upon receipt
• Update and maintain the records of admission, discharges and transfers in patient log for ready access
• Answer phone calls at the unit reception promptly and courteously, respond appropriately and deliver messages as required to concerned staff
• Ensure availability of all paperwork, forms/ slips at the nursing station to be used by nurses and physicians
• Update computerized inventory of medical surgical and pharmacy items

Required qualifications, attributes and experience

1. Diploma in Business Management or Administration
2. One year working experience in a hospital set up
3. Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
4. Pleasant personality with good interpersonal skills
5. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel
