    Technical Advisor - Gender Development

    Main Purpose of Job

    The job holder will provide technical expertise in the area of FP/RMNCAH and project management

    Qualifications for the Technical Advisor Job

    • Degree in Social Sciences, preferably in public health or related fields
    • Ability to take initiative
    • Excellent presentation, written and communication skills in English and Kiswahili
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and cultural tolerance
    • Problem solving and initiative oriented
    • Analytical skills
    • Mature
    • 4 years practical experience in FP/RMNCAH, BCC programmes
    • Demonstrated technical expertise in family planning and BCC/Campaign
    • Proven skills in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of FP/RMNCAH programmes

    Technical Advisor Job Responsibilities

    • Supporting the increased knowledge PF and demand for FP/RMNCAH services
    • Conducting gender analysis and development of innovative strategies to reduce the gender based barriers to FP/RMNCAH service uptake
    • Promoting improved gender norms and sociocultural practices as a key strategy to addressing retrogressive cultural norms
    • Liaising with other partners to organise FP/RMNCAH related activities
    • Providing technical assistance for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the FP/RMNCAH component
    • Participating in the planning of capacity guiding activities
    • Monitors and backstops the implementation of FP/RMNCAH related activities
    • Conduct site visits, review the programming and implementation of ongoing project, prepare reports, make recommendations and conduct follow-up visits
    • Reviewing annual work plan, facilitates requests for advances of funds, reviews budget, prepares budget revision and/or supplementary budgets for approval
