Duties and responsibilities for the County Co-operatives Commissioner Job

• Enforcement and co-ordination of co-operative policies and legislation,
• Co-ordination of the implementation of strategies (project and programs) for promotion of the Co-operative Movement.
• Provision of extension, consultancy and advisory services
• Initiation and co-ordination of inspection and inquiries
• Advising on co-operative investments
• Undertaking co-operative risk assessment
• Analyzing data for policy formulation
• Carrying out market research and disseminating research findings
• Preparing and evaluating co-operative activities and trends for promoting the co-operative movement
• Co-ordination of co-operative education and training services to the movement.
• Co-ordination of co-operative marketing, including market research, collection of market information and value addition processing.
• Co-ordination of cooperative financial services including savings and credit.
  Co-ordination of Sub-county Co-operatives activities.

Job Requirements for the County Co-operatives Commissioner Job

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Co-operatives Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Sociology, Economics, Marketing, Law Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development, Finance or Agri-business from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
• Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence and a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and an ability to relate them to proper management of the Co-operative Movement.
• Served in the grade of Assistant Commissioner for Co-operatives Development (Job Group ‘P’) or equivalent position for a minimum period of three(3) years
• Good planning, organizational, communication and analytical skills.
