Manage and Process Products by supervising staff; planning, organizing and monitoring work flow throughout the production unit, ensuring adherence to quality standards and optimal returns.

Responsibilities for the Production Manager Job

• Planning and organizing production schedules, ensuring the production process is run smoothly and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring compliance of operations with company policy as well as relevant statutory obligations.
• Ensures the quality of raw products and final products in order to fulfill the set quality standards and setting customer standards.
• Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures.
• Ensure good hygiene and orderliness inside the factory, efficiently utilizing the space available.
• Ensure that the factory complies with Quality control standards such as Global Gap and HACCP.
• Prepare, analyze and submit periodic reports to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to industrial regulations, and proper health and safety standards in the workplace at all times in line with the company’s health and safety standards.
• Plan, coordinate & manage staff operations to achieve production targets.
• Develop, motivate and manage the performance of staff under supervision.
• Spearhead the process of getting the necessary certifications for export to different countries.

Production Manager Job Competencies

• Minimum of a diploma in food science, business management, or their equivalent.
• 2-3 years work experience in food processing industry.
• Must have knowledge and experience in Quality Management Certification Systems such as HACCP, and Global Gap
• Great organization and management skills.
• Effective supervision skills and ability to lead a team.
• Mature and responsible.
• Has good knowledge of both kiswahili and English
• Computer literate
