Overall responsibility

Support the Legal and Technical Departments in Legislative Monitoring and Research.

Responsibilities for the Legal & Human Rights Internship

• The specific duties and responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring Bills from the Senate and National Assembly;
• Monitoring the Hansard and Order Papers at the Senate and the National Assembly;
• Monitoring the Kenya Gazette; and
• Legislative and other Research.

Qualifications for the Legal & Human Rights Internship

• Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from a recognized university;
• Experienced in undertaking comprehensive research;
• Outstanding Interpersonal, analytical and communication skills;
• Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail;
• A high level of computer literacy and proficient in written and spoken English and Kiswahili; and
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reporting and supervision:
• The legal intern shall report to the Director Legal Services at the Council’s Secretariat.

Duration

The contract is for a period of six (6) months.
