    People Director

    Our People Director will lead our efforts to recruit, train, and maintain a world class team of people from a rich diversity of experiences and backgrounds. The People Director will liaise across teams to lead our data-driven hiring cycles, learning and training initiatives, HR and wellness teams, and to inform to our growth strategy, all while ensuring our culture stays at the heart of everything we do.

    Busara is a behavioral science organization that uses rigorous data and cutting-edge research methods in all of its work, and our People team is no different. Whether it’s using the latest in sensors and technology, apps for mental health improvement, developing bias-free hiring processes, or data-driven performance reporting, we expect our People Director to be at the cutting edge of the field and embrace a scientific and rigorous approach to developing people.

    Our People Director reports to the Director of Operations, with direct coordination with our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Our People Director leads a variety of initiatives including, but not limited to:

    • Leading our Human Resource team and Wellness team to ensure that all staff are in a healthy, safe, and happy work environment. Ensure systems for redress are available and robust.
    • Continually develop and iterate our hiring process to incorporate the best practices in using data and behavioral science to eliminate bias and recruit the best people for Busara.
    • Designing and leading the development of compensation and rewards systems for all Busara staff.
    • Develop and monitor our internal training initiatives -- design our skills assessments and training tools and coordinate within teams as well as across the industry to design on and off-site training curriculum.
    • Lead our mentorship, assessment and promotion process to ensure our staff are growing, learning, and contributing to Busara’s approach.
    • Lead a push into employee wellness through organizing events, monitoring wellness, and creating initiatives to drive wellbeing.
    • Ensure that our culture scales with our organization.
    • Incorporate the latest research in qualitative and quantitative methods, behavioral science, psychology, economics, and development to provide creative solutions to our people needs.
    • Act as a leader and thought partner in developing our strategic plans, organizational charts, and international expansion plans.

    CORE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Deep understanding of Busara’s business and organizational culture and how our people drive our work.
    • Ability to work with and inspire people from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.
    • Experience leading teams, with a particular focus on growth, talent, and culture.
    • History of contributing strategically to organizations at the highest level, with an emphasis on people.
    • Use of data and state-of-the-art research in developing people-focused initiatives.
    • 3+ years experience in HR, organizational psychology, growth, talent, or a related field.
    • Degree / advance training in Human Resources or a related field, Masters or PhD in Human Resources, organizational management, psychology or sociology preferred.
