    Manager - Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory Services

    Job Purpose

    To provide accounting advisory services across a range of clients.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Provide accounting advisory services to clients on complex accounting issues including revenue recognition, business combinations, consolidations, financial instruments, income taxes and stock-based compensation.
    2. Advice clients on the implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IFRS 17)
    3. Conduct and facilitate IFRS trainings and seminars both internal and external.
    4. Advice clients on complex accounting and financial reporting matters arising from divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, debt and equity security offerings, IFRS adoption among others.
    5. Provide support on accounting and reporting technical matters, including topics such as revenue recognition, impairment of goodwill and business combinations.
    6. Perform the valuation of complex financial instruments for accounting, regulatory, trading or deals purposes.
    7. Develop or validate various models used to perform fair value calculations on financial instruments.
    8. Carry out and support business development activities to create new opportunities and translate to wins
    9. Lead efficient and effective working teams to address client's complex accounting and reporting issues.
    10. Analyse prospective financial statements as well as participate in client meetings and site visits; identify issues; and propose strategies related to the procedures executed as well as actively contribute to report generation.

    Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required

    1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related discipline.
    2. Should possess an accounting qualification e.g. CA/ACCA/CPA
    3. At least 4-6 years’ experience in financial reporting
    4. Experience in accounting framework conversions (IFRS).
    5. Extensive knowledge of IFRS and related financial reporting concepts and rules to resolve client issues, for example such as relating to: Financial instruments; Leasing; Consolidations; IFRS conversions; Fair value assessments; Revenue recognition; and Business combination regulations.
    6. Experience in serving large public and private clients in a variety of industries.
    7. Experience and/or a proven record of success in a project engagement role related to, advising multi-national, publicly-traded companies and private equity firms on a broad range of technical accounting, financial reporting, and capital markets accounting topics.
    8. Big 4 firm experience would be an added advantage

    6. Ability to demonstrate extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in a role managing a wide range of accounting and advisory-related projects, consistently

    demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative.

    7. Ability to lead and serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams and deliver within short deadlines.

    8. Ability to maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues.

    9. Proficiency in MS Suite of packages and google suite
