    Regional Sales and Key Account Manager

    Our client, a well-established distributor of specialty food ingredients is looking to recruit a Regional Sales and Key Account Manager to be based in Nairobi who will be responsible for managing the company’s sales activities, maximizing the profitable, effective and recurrent sales of the company’s range of specialty food ingredients across the region. The successful candidate must have experience in food processing industry with a proven track record of above 7 years in technical sales, key account management or related regional sales management position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish, promote and maintain strong relationships between the company and the customer base.
    • Service, retain and grow existing customer base and drive business growth through business planning.
    • Manage select key accounts.
    • Manage the regional sales team; maximise cross-selling between principals within customer accounts.
    • Design, implement and maintain sales/distributor excellence tools.
    • Understand and recommend pricing requirements based on market trends and account specific knowledge.
    • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of principals’ product portfolio.
    • Identify business development opportunities in existing and new product lines to expand the business.
    • Design and implement annual sales budgets with senior management.
    • Create, follow and execute on detailed sales plans in line with the company’s 5-year strategic plan.
    • Consistently meet or exceed established sales targets.
    • Represent the company and its principals with diligence, integrity, and humility.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology or related field.
    • Must have above 7 years’ experience in technical sales, account or regional sales management role.
    • Must have proven track record of managing a proactive and productive sales team.
    • Food processing industry experience is strongly preferred.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the region.
    • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
    • Demonstrated passion and skill-set for self-directed customer interaction.
    • Business development and sales conversion skills critical.
