Office Accountant at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

We are looking to appoint an experienced Office Accountant to take responsibility in ensuring appropriate financial controls and systems are in place and for managing project budgets for all grants and contracts that run through the Kisumu office.

It is essential that you already possess a professional accounting qualification such as: CPA (K), ACCA or ACA and have gone on to gain experience in a professional accountancy based role in a multi-national, or non-governmental organisation. You will also need to be able to evidence experience of having managed a payroll function, prepared month-end accounts coupled with extensive experience of producing year-end financial statements. Proven experience of operating computerised accounting systems and internal control systems and procedure will also be essential.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop internal and external working relationships (nationally and internationally) as you will be communicating and with a variety of different people on finance related issues. The role will require you to work to tight deadlines so excellent time management and organisational skills are essential as is a working knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software and Microsoft Applications.
