NIWETU works in Garissa, Isiolo, Mandera and Wajir counties. The Program Development Officer is NIWETU’s primary program representative at the County level. NIWETU will appoint one Program Development Officer in each County.

    • Technically supervise the CMO in coordination with the program team.
    • Work closely with the program team to develop concepts under NIWETU’s tasks, including sub-grants to local organizations, and support to government. Manage the implementation of County level activities through the activity cycle.
    • Ensure that all operational functions follow contractual terms and conditions, DAI policies and procedures, USAID and other relevant U.S. Government regulations.
    • Provide regular situational awareness, and updates on changes in context and opportunity, feeding into strategy shifts, and programming priorities.
    • Represent NIWETU in external meetings and forums such as coordination and partnership building meetings with Government representatives, civil society, and community representatives.
    • Support the monitoring and evaluation team and partners in program monitoring, evaluation and learning.

    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in similar roles.
    • Self-driven and able to deliver results with minimum supervision.
    • Highly developed analytical skills, including the ability to co design targeted activities to positively affect desired CVE outcomes with at-risk individuals and communities.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good organization and coordination skills.
