Position Description: TD intern for Trials site and PCM4 trials

Department: Technology Development

Position to which this role reports:

Direct: TDR Central and East Africa

Functional: Sales Manager CEA Africa

Duration: 6 month renewable contract

Job Purpose

Execution of trial plan for TD site as well as selected PCM4 trials. Data collection and summarizing key findings. Supporting field demos for recently launched varieties and field days. Work with TDR and sales team in testing new varieties and support successful product positioning. Assist in collection of technical information in the management of demo sites

Key Responsibilities

• Support in setting up of trials for TD site /PCM4 in key regions.
• Support Good Agricultural Practices for the trial site; Irrigation, fertilizer, pesticide recommendation and application and crop support.
• Data collection as per FTS protocol for use in variety advancement.
• Participate in field/PCM4 events with the sales and marketing
• Offer technical support to promote sale of new varieties; new product launches, trainings, promotions and grower exhibitions.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Bsc Agriculture/Horticulture
• At least 6 month experience in agricultural research
• Basic computer and data analysis skills
• Strong agronomy/crop knowledge
• Vegetable trials, vegetable product development
• Crop production required
• Knowledge in statistics
• Strong communication/presentation skills
