Responsibilities and Duties

• Sound Knowledge of African countries and their relations with the world
• Good at doing research and sorting out valuable news from various sources or information
• Capable of organizing reports from different perspectives within a short period of time
• To be across the main stories of the day, checking factual details and undertaking background research as required
• To liaise with correspondents and producers, gathering advice on stories and coverage and providing support
• To assist the news teams in planning news coverage and commissioning content from correspondents in the field

Educational Background and Experience

• Bachelor degrees or above, communications/journalism/international relations majors preferred
• Minimum 5 years TV news planning experience
• Maintain excellent oral and written communication skills
• Possess an understanding of and appreciation for a multi-national, multi-cultural work environment
• Demonstrate an above average knowledge of international news stories and issues, as well as forthcoming news events.
• Team player and can deal diplomatically with output requests and correspondents in the field.
• Able to exercise an appropriate degree of editorial judgment while taking responsibility for any briefs that are assigned
