    Chief Manager - Internal Affairs Investigations

    Department: Intelligence & Strategic Operations

    Division: Internal Affairs

    Supervisor: Deputy Commissioner - Internal Affairs

    Supervisee: Manager - Internal Investigations (2)

    Job summary: Management of investigations on corruption and unethical conduct by staff.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Developing and implementing an effective framework for internal investigations.
    • Overseeing timely and effective investigation of cases of corruption and other areas of staff mis-conduct.
    • Initiating and maintaining effective linkage with other law enforcement agencies for the purpose of facilitating investigations and/or prosecution touching on the conduct of KRA Staff.
    • Supporting the disciplinary process by ensuring findings of investigations are properly captured and appropriately factored in the final determination of disciplinary cases.
    • Ensuring timely and effective prosecution of cases touching on KRA staff investigated by the division where prosecution is undertaken.
    • Overseeing of management and operational reporting.
    • Management of resources in the operational area

    Academic and Professional qualifications:

    • A Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, Commerce or law from a recognized university
    • Evidence of training in the management of corruption or financial crimes or code of conduct related investigations
    • Relevant professional certifications in the area on financial/economic crimes investigations
    • Training in Tax and Customs administration will be an added advantage

    Relevant work experience required:

    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the management of corruption or financial crimes investigations.
    • At least 3 years of experience is supporting prosecution of corruption or financial crimes or code of conduct related cases.
    • Experience in the conduct of lifestyle audits will be an added advantage.
