    Accountant I

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collation of financial estimates;
    • Determination of aggregate expenditure;
    • Supervision of the revenue collection processes;
    • Preparation of quarterly reports and financial statements
    • General supervision of personnel in finance department.
    • Personnel training and development.
    • Preparing expenditure reports based on approved budgets
    • Compiling and verifying records.
    • An officer at this level may also be deployed to one of the Centre/Station as an Accountant in charge.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time..

    Minimum requirements for Appointment

    For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of at least C+ (Plus) or its equivalent;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance or its equivalent from a recognized University.
    • Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPAIII) Examination or its equivalent.
    • Satisfactorily served in the grade of Accountant II or in a comparable position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years.
