    Assistant Manager - Domestic Taxes Revenue Reporting

    Grade: KRA 5

    Department: Strategy Innovation & Risk Management (S.I.R.M)

    Division: Research, Knowledge Management & Corporate Planning (R,KM & CP)

    Supervisor: Manager - Domestic Taxes Statistics

    Job summary:

    Developing data analysis and reporting capabilities and continuously monitoring performance and quality through analysing and reporting KRA’s big data for the sole purpose of informing the decision making process.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Identify and maintain key data sets on Domestic Taxes revenue and its related components,
    • Coordinate the preparation of revenue performance reports (as per provided timelines) to management, Board, The National Treasury, and other identified stakeholders on defined timelines,
    • Prepare the Domestic taxes revenue target as provided in the ‘Estimates of Revenue Grants and Loans’ from The National Treasury,
    • Coordinate preparation of target spreads on a monthly, quarterly and weekly basis taking into consideration seasonal trends defined by due dates and historical trends,
    • Undertake adjustment/ re-spreading of the Domestic Taxes revenue target taking into account the noted shortfalls as and when they occur,
    • Oversee the analysis of the effect of policy statements on Domestic Taxes revenue collection and tax administration,
    • Prepare regular and accurate revenue projections (based on trends) in a timely manner,
    • Engage with the Corporate Data Office (CDO) to ensure regular update/ improvement to the data marts (and performance dashboards),
    • Assist the research section in improving the KRA revenue forecasting model, including provision of requisite data as may be needed,
    • Continuously liaise with the internal stakeholders (M&E and DTD) to develop and review Key Performance Indicators (KPI),
    • Participate in the preparation of the Statistical bulletin and Annual revenue report,
    • Participate in the formulation of strategy to guide in developing Corporate and operational plans.

    Academic and Professional qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics or Business related field from a recognized university.
    • Master’s Degree from a recognized university in Statistics and Economics is an added advantage.
    • Computer literacy in relevant computer packages such as Microsoft Office, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences
