Job Requirements

• Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution
• At least 3 years working experince in a busy hospital
• Team player. Attention to detail
• Careful measurements and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Install new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
• Repair and service hospital machinery and equipment and when necessary plan and advice on external servicing.
• Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, conducting tests following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions, calling for special service; evaluating service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories.
• Directs biomedical equipment operation by providing equipment operation demonstrations and instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment; answering questions, providing information.
• Evaluates proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations.
• Prepares biomedical reports and presents it to the management
• Maintains safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures; training and guiding medical and healthcare personnel.
• Install and maintain wiring and lighting system
• Inspect electrical components to ensure they are in proper condition
• Identify electrical problems and act promptly
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures
• Installing or maintaining heating systems
• Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim.
• Repairing sanitation systems.
• Emergency repairs.
• Test pipe systems and fix leaks.
• Perform scheduled maintenance.
• Fitting appliances such as water dispensers
• Any other duty as may be assigned
