Senior Operations Manager (Business Intelligence) - SSA at Uber

About the role

A successful competitive strategy is essential to our continued business growth and financial contribution targets in 2018. The Competition Lead for SSA will work with a variety of stakeholders to craft our competitive strategy, create actionable insights from the ground up, build out tools and tactics, ensure operational excellence in their deployment, and scale them across SSA.

This specialized Operations role requires a combination of technical (SQL) and business experience (applied economics/statistics) to maximize our ROI.

What You'll Do

• Manage our regional competitive intelligence processes: Ensure we have the right systems in place to collect and process internal and external data, own the data digesting efforts across SSA, find gaps and innovate to create new processes, and hold POCs across the region accountable of local Competition responsibilities
• Intel & Insights generation: Crafting strategies and tactics from the ground up and executing regional initiatives in collaboration with Competition POCs across our markets, ensuring operational excellence
• Manage relationships with stakeholders: Manage relationships with functional areas (Comms, Legal, Policy, Transactions, etc.) as well as regional teams (City teams, Ops, Regional Marketing, etc.) to ensure alignment in the ideation, execution and deployment of our strategies
• Cost-Benefit Analysis. Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of programs and work with management to execute those strategies as efficiently as possible
• Contribute to SSA thought leadership: Unearth key insights and strategies that allow us to succeed at a local level and scale them for the entire region

What You'll Need

• Top of the line Excel and data management skills
• SQL proficiency is a must
• Strong communication skills is a must
• Python and R proficiency is a plus
• Strong business sense and creative approach with data to identify gaps in our value proposition
• Strong project management skills to organize Competition POCs throughout our markets in the region
• Ability to work with limited information and an intense drive to keep Uber as the platform of choice
• Openness to constant traveling across SSA
