Internal Auditor at Mombasa County Public Service Board

Job purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for examining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization’s internal control risk management and governance process as well as the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities to achieve the organization’s stated goals and objective.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop audit plans and programs using appropriate risk based methodology;
• Carry out internal audits in line with approved audit plans and programmes;
• Maintain sufficient adequate audit working papers relating to audit assignments undertaken;
• Timely preparation of preliminary audit reports for assignments undertaken and submitting such audit reports to review;
• Follow up with auditees on the implementation of audit recommendations; Undertake other assurance or consultancy assignments as may be assigned by the Internal Audit Manager from time to time.

Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience

• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting/Finance/Economics or any other business related degree from a recognized institution.
• Must be a holder of CPA Part II (Section 4)
• Minimum KCSE Certificate Grade C+ (Plus) or Division II
• Minimum three (3) years’ demonstrable experience gained in an internal Audit department of a reputable organization or audit firm.
