    Front Desk Agent- InterContinental Nairobi

    Description

    Your day to day

    • Under the general direction of the Front Desk Supervisor or his / her designate and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group brand and local policies and procedures, responsible for all activities relevant to the Front Desk such as the check in / out, rooming of all guests, foreign exchange and assisting them with inquiries.
    • Maintain knowledge of and observes the hotel credit policies and procedures
    • Register all arrivals according to established credit policy and procedures.
    • Contribute to the hotel revenue generation through the Loyalty program enrollments and Up selling program by meeting set targets
    • Perform check in, check out and room change procedures and ensures all data is entered completely into the hotel systems in accordance with the reservation.
    • Takes personal interest and pride to ensure that the front desk work area is kept clean and in an orderly state at all times among others.
    • Greet all guests at all times in a friendly and helpful manner and attempts to learn and use guest’s name at every opportunity
    • Be able to promote the hotel (and InterContinental Hotels Group generally) products and services.
    • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all InterContinental Hotels Group hotels in our region and all F&B activities.
    • Desire and ability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training and attends all trainings as assigned.
    • Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries.

    What we need from you

    • A Colleague who promotes the IHG Culture around the Winning Ways of Do the Right Thing, Show We Care, Aim Higher, Celebrate Difference and Work Better Together.
    • Certificate in Front Office Operations. Diploma in Hotel Management or an equivalent Hospitality course is a plus.
    • Two years work experience as a Front Office Agent in a 5 star hotel
    • Experience with Opera and Micros is mandatory
    • Excellent Communication skills with proficiency in a second international language other than English.
