Golf Course Supervisor at Sigona Golf Club

The Course Supervisor promotes, monitors and maintains healthy safety and security of the work areas, self, team and others.  The Course Supervisor allocates work and supervises the Golf Course staff.

The Main objective of this role is to carry out routine golf course maintenance tasks and supervise the golf course staff, as directed by the Golf Course Manager, in accordance with the Sigona Golf Club Course Maintenance Policy, its Health and Safety Policy and the Green-keepers Code of Conduct.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Diploma in Golf Course Management, Horticulture, or a related field
• Knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices.
• A working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
• Knowledge of current local and international laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations (including, but not limited to, employment, safety and environmental standards, laws and regulations).
• Knowledge of chemicals used in turf maintenance is an added advantage
• Creative and innovative
• Excellent Communication and leadership skills
• Guest oriented and service minded
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Ability to delegate multiple tasks
• Ability to manage personnel and meet set targets
• Ability to work as a team
• Computer proficient
• A high degree of problem solving and decision making technique
• Knowledge of chemicals used in turf maintenance is an added advantage
• 2 - 3 years proven experience as Course Supervisor
