Call for Consultancy at Trocaire

About the Consultancy

• The objective of the assignment is to produce a photobook with success stories that highlights the work implemented by Trócaire and our partners in Nairobi, Nakuru, Tharaka Nithi, Kitui and Lodwar. The photobook will focus on the positive achievements and impacts of the partners’ work on the ground by capturing the following:
• Testimonials of community members who have benefitted from the projects
• What were their lives like before? How has their life change for the better? What do they like about the project? How do they see the future?

The consultant will work in the following areas and themes:

• Community resilience built through provision of various inputs to farmers mainly on water provision in Tharaka Nithi and Kitui e.g. development of farm fond, dam liners, and drop kits that are now sustaining all year around crop production.
• Civil society space in particular linkages created with the Turkana County government.
• Economic empowerment, positive behaviour change in the lives of adolescent girls and women Nairobi and Nakuru

Consultant Profile

Trócaire Kenya seeks to engage the services of qualified and experienced consultant with the following qualifications and experience

• At least Five (5) years of professional experience working in a similar field
• Extensive experience in producing development work related documentaries for international organisations with the aim of reaching both local and international audiences.
• Experience in working with other international organizations.
• Knowledge of the local context in the specified project areas highlighted above
• Excellent technical capacities to ensure smooth and high quality production.
• Additional experience in development communication will be an added advantage.

Deliverables

• Participate in an inception meeting with Trócaire to review the proposal and agree on revisions
• Submit a final proposal within 24 hours of the inception meeting
• Meet with project stakeholders in field sites to agree on shooting schedules.
• Use comments to make edits and submit finalized draft photo stories to Trócaire for approval, at most 5 working days from receipt of initial comments.
• Submit all raw materials collected during the filming for any possible future production initiated by Trócaire.
