    Sponsorship Services Officer

    Location: Head Office (Ruiru, Kiambu County)

    Employment Period: 1 year renewable

    Employee Category: Fixed Term Contract

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Sponsorship Manager in the preparation of annual operating plan for the sponsorship department and ensure its effective implementations.
    • Facilitating a mutual relationship between sponsorship programme and stakeholders.
    • Production of timely and quality sponsorship communications.
    • Build and strengthen working relations with local structures (local administration, schools among others) and ensure they are adequately consulted/informed of GNK’s operations.
    • Mobilize and sensitize sponsored families to ensure their active participation in sponsorship and program activities.
    • Undertake regular monitoring of sponsored families through scheduled home visits.
    • Ensure appropriate consultation, participation and feedback to the community in relation to GNK programs and policies.
    • Promote children rights in sponsorship and ensure that GNK’s Child Protection Policy and Principles are adhered to by all stakeholders.
    • Regular monitoring, reporting and documentation on sponsorship processes in the field. 
    • Ensures that GNI global policies for Child Protection are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and GNK’s Code of Conduct, their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
    • Recording weekly reports on inputs, activities and outputs.
    • Promote an understanding of methodologies appropriate to program/project practice with a view to increasing the management and analytical skills of individual staff.
    • Other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • At least two (2) years’ experience in community development related work.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Community Development.
    • At least 3 years’ experience working with communities in sponsorship communications.
    • Applicants must be conversant with and comply with child protection laws.
    • Experience working with community based organisations.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge, Skills and experience in working with children and understanding of child protection laws and policies.
    • Computer skill (Microsoft office package).
    • Excellent report writing skills.
    • Good organizational and management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
    • Good command of English, Swahili.
    • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, energetic.
    • Attention to detail and ability to remain calm.
    • Confident, assertive, forward thinking with good judgments.
    • Ability to motivate and influence others
