    Internal Auditor

    We are seeking to recruit a professional Internal Auditor with ability to conduct independent audit reviews and give assurance on compliance with the Club’s laid policies, procedures, regulatory provisions and assess the adequacy of internal controls and operational risks and highlight exceptions and violations.
     
    Responsibilities
    • Reviewing the existing internal control systems manual, procedures and advising the committee and management accordingly.
    • Carrying out independent assessments of business and operational risks to ensure efficient and effective use of Club resources.
    • Assessing compliance to Club’s policies, regulatory procedures and internal control systems.
    • Developing and implementing audit plans, programs and tests in consultation with external auditors.
    • Assisting in ensuring efficient use of and accounting for Club’s assets and safeguarding against loss.
    • Undertake special audit investigations as may be required from time to time and present the findings precisely but diplomatically to senior management team.
    • Develop and assess risk management guidelines as well as fraud investigation strategy
    • Interpret financial policies for sound auditing principle/practices and controls.
    • Preparation of periodic reports for Main Committee regarding the reliance on the existing internal control systems.
    • Help with the improvement and update of audit programs for all the areas audited especially where there are none and store them in the central repository
    • Demonstrate that the audit programs developed covered all identified risks and tested all mitigating controls.
    • Value addition to Club processes by way of solid workable and realistic recommendations
    • Act as a partner and provide risk management and internal control consultancy services to different Club departments during projects and events.
    • Continuously develop personal skills to ensure practice applied in the Club is as per current market trends.
    Qualifications
    • A degree in Bachelor of Commerce accounting/finance option with C.P.A (K)/ A.C.C.A./ C.I.S.A
    • Over 3 years’ experience in a similar position preferably in a Club set up or hotel industry
    Required Skills:
     
    Technical
    • Have the ability to quickly grasp and understand all the Club’s operations, systems and processes, policies and procedures.
    • Ability to anticipate and mitigate risk by developing appropriate Risk Management Policies for the club
    • Excellent knowledge of International Accounting and Audit Standards, and Legislations
    • Top notch understanding of the regulatory issues, reporting and operational requirement as provided by , KRA, , etc.
    • Knowledge of computerized Internal Audit Techniques, Computerized accounting and financial systems, banking applications and spreadsheets.
    Personal 
    • Strives to achieve results, enjoys measuring others, being measured, and being judged on performance standards and those of others in his team
    • Must be honest, fair, just but firm, and of high integrity
    • Must be a good negotiator, particularly in changing behaviour and work practices but always Win/Win
    • Well developed oral and report-writing skills, ability to work with, lead and build workmates
    • Leadership Skills, Team Building and ability to train.
    • Influence others to collectively work as a team to achieve a set objective
