    KRA Company Secretary

    Our client the Kenya Revenue Authority is the principal revenue collector for the Government of Kenya, with the primary goal to deliver Kenya to financial self-sufficiency through effective tax revenue mobilisation. It is in this pursuit that we seek result oriented, self driven individuals of high integrity to fill the position of Company Secretary.

    Purpose of the Job
    The Company Secretary will be the principal legal advisor to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the provision of non-tax legal advisory services to authority.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance to the Board on corporate governance in relation to the provisions of KRA Act and related regulations;
    • Responsible for all non-tax legal matters of the authority;
    • Responsible for effective company secretarial services;
    • Responsible for drafting, reviewing and advising on all conveyancing matters;
    • Conduct research and collate data and information for board consumption as may be required;

    Requirements

    The job holder should possess the following minimum qualifications:

    • Relevant University Degree Law;
    • Certified Public Secretary CPS(K); and be a member in good standing with the Institute of
    Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya;
    • Fifteen (15) years’ experience, at least ten (10) years providing Board secretarial services
    within the public or private sector;
    • Master’s Degree in the relevant fields shall confer added advantage;
    • Is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, member of the LSK, and have a valid practicing
    certificate;

    In addition, candidates should demonstrate the following Personal Traits and Competencies:

    • Experience in providing company secretarial services within large public or private sector institutions;
    • Experience and knowledge in corporate law within public or private sector;
    • Demonstrated experience in corporate governance;
    • Evidenced knowledge and demonstrated experience in corporate governance;
    • High standards of ethics, integrity and confidentiality;
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
