    Facilities Services & Real Estate Lead

    Job description

    Under the supervision of the EMEA FS&RE Leader, the FS&RE North Africa/Middle East Lead, will be responsible to implement sub-regional strategies, governances, work processes related to integrated facility management and portfolio planning across the enterprise. Additionally, this Leader role will interact cross functionally and will ensure different business leaders are appraised of current and future facility and infrastructure models, to ensure that “best in class” solutions are in place. This role will be centered at the Corteva™ Agriscience office in Cairo, Egypt or Nairobi, Kenya.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • This role aligns to the North & Western, Eastern, and Egypt/Middle East Commercial Units which are currently comprised of all Middle East and African countries except those managed by the South Africa FS&RE Leader (currently comprised of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, and Swaziland).
    • Embrace and communicate the vision and strategy for FS&RE which is aligned with the Corteva™ strategy and core values.
    • Implement a robust set of policies, standards and operating procedures to support the business. Embed process discipline.
    • Establish effective governance to ensure decisions are fully informed and value-driven.
    • Maintain strategic alignment with the company vision. Establish long-term roadmaps for all sites in Africa region.
    • Embed fiscal discipline and value management in all activities. Leverage key data sources for transparency of key parameters such as site utilization, cost benchmarks and performance metrics.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of all aspects of Real Estate obligations, risks and opportunities. Engage regularly with sub-regional management as part of decision making processes and provide robust analysis to support all real estate decisions. Ensure that all real estate strategies support the needs of functional groups.
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of recovery and surplus goals and governances; work in heritage real estate systems and software; develop ability to set strategies for off-boarding that fits corporate policies and marketing strategies. Co-develop and share knowledge of global work practices for proper stewardship of handling surplus properties and asset transfer, off-boarding, and reallocation on a sub-regional/regional scale.
    • Determine critical equipment and site lists, as defined by Commercial, Research & Development and Warehouse Operations, for all new, consolidated, leveraged, leased, or demised sites in Africa. Coordinate sub-regional identification list with EMEA FS&RE Hub Leader, functional business leaders, Real Estate Leader, and Tax, Finance, and
    • Treasury leaders to gain approval for relocation, off-boarding, asset movement or reallocation.
    • Collaborate with a consortium of project and facility engineers, ensuring all demised sites and assets are appropriately accounted for and documented by maintenance; ensure all operational requirements, environmental procedures, policies and work processes are completed to standards, ensuring sites are prepared for demising, committing focused attention on identification of all utility services and necessary municipal permits or services at idle locations.
    • Effectively engage with Surplus group including full time employees as well as independent contractors and contingent work force.
    • Travel 25% of the time for training or sub-regional/regional site visits, evaluations, and business leadership meetings.
    • Maintain current technical expertise through seminars, trade journals, contacts with vendors and industry groups/associations.
    • Understand, observe, and ensure all processes and projects adhere to the DowDuPont Company standards for environmental, safety, security and loss prevention/reliability principles.
