East Africa Head Accountant at INTRASOFT International

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to ensure that proper financial procedures/systems are operated and maintained in compliance with Intrasoft International's financial policies, guidelines and set accounting standards.

This Role reports to East Africa CEO and Group Chief Accountant in Athens, Greece.

You will...

• Implement and maintain accounting records for all financial transactions
• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with HQ Reporting requirements
• Monitor expenditure against budget
• Prepare and review budgets, income and expenditure reports, for approval Finance Manager and East Africa CEO
• Provide advice, financial interpretations and corrective actions in response to audits and other queries
• Provide substantive support to the development and implementation of accounting and internal control systems
• Be the custodian of cash receipts, vouchers, cheques and other payment systems
• Participate in the development of the overall organizational strategic plan, contributing financial related expertise and information
• Make proper records of cash received/paid out through the evidence of receipt /payment vouchers duly authorized, and ensure all vouchers are properly filed and up-to-date
• Verify and prepare payments with all the necessary documentation and ensure that vouchers are presented for authorization
• Manage the staff payroll and advances and ensure that all statutory obligations like PAYE, NSSF, WHT, WIBA, etc. are made and promptly remitted as required
• Maintain cash books, cheque register for all bank accounts, and produce a monthly reconciliation statement for each account
• Post relevant accounting and financial transactions using SAP computerized accounting system
• Maintain and keep track of the company’s fixed assets, in addition to making the necessary adjustments
• Ensure effective accountability of all company funds advanced to staff
• Any other duties as assigned by Finance Manager or CEO

You have

• Professional qualification of CPA(K) or equivalent
• Experience in accounting preferably in an IT, Telco or services related company
• Good understanding and experience in Tax laws in Kenya
• Excellent IT skills with strong knowledge of Excel and Word

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration with a specialty in Finance and/or Accounting is an added advantage
