    Programme Officer (Disability Inclusive Development)

    Contract: 2 year fixed term contract

    With focus on inclusive education the Programme Officer will work to enhance the quality of the Disability Inclusive Development (DID) Project, by working closely with partners and programme delivery. This role will ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible standards.

    The post holder will:

    • Build effective partner relationships and support longer-term relationships that go beyond the project duration as well as support partners to identify their own technical and organizational capacity- building needs, establish agreements with partners where appropriate and promote shared learning and collaboration.
    • Work with the UK Disability Inclusive Development programme team and all members of the consortia to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned.
    • Manage all aspects of the programme cycle, ensure that all project documentation and reports are made available in a timely and accessible way, assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and be proactive in providing good quality information in case studies and interesting news stories relating to the programme.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or above in Education; demonstrate experience of working in different education settings; have knowledge of current issues, best practices and an understanding of the local education system, particularly relating to the education of children with disabilities, and be familiar with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights and education. A background in Early Childhood Education being a distinct advantage.
