The Programme
SUED is a £60 million, five-year programme supported by the British Government through the Department for International Development (DFID). The programme aims to support up to 10 fast growing municipalities to develop sustainable urban economic plans and attract investment for critical infrastructure and value chain projects.
The Main Programme Objectives Are To
The implementing consortium is led by Coffey International Development, with various other subcontractor partners providing other services. Atkins Ltd. has been awarded the urban economic planning component. Subcontractors for three thematic areas (capacity building, investment climate, and investment attraction) will be selected in the coming months.
The Position
Level of Effort
This is a part time position, operating on an intermittent short-term basis over the life of the project as needed. In total we envisage up to 100 days of inputs over the life of the programme (up to 2023), with up to 20 days until the end of Inception (8th September 2019). The work would be primarily undertaken in consultation with the team based in Nairobi, with some travel to various municipalities across Kenya.
