    Information, Communication and Technology Specialist

    Type of Contract: Consultancy Contract 9-12 Months

    Direct Supervisor: IB Nairobi Head of Mission

    Functional Supervisor: ICT Director ESAF

    Region: East and Southern Africa (ESAF)

    Mission of the position:

    The ICT Support Specialist is responsible for IO ESAF international Branch Office, supporting users with Microsoft cloud services, Network and connectivity support and related ICT administrative works in IB Nairobi office.

    In cooperation with the Regional ICT Director/Advisor, the ICT support specialist is mainly responsible for the smooth running of cloud based SOS business apps ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.

    Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

    • Manage and Troubleshoot ICT Infrastructure
    • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
    • Monitor and maintain Network systems and End User Devices
    • Engaged with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over virtual platform, to support, set up systems or resolve issues
    • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
    • Troubleshoot various Office 365 issues including connectivity and mobility
    • Support the roll-out of cloud based applications and services
    • Support Co-workers
    • New user setup and orientation including installing and configuring workstations, software, telephone services, network printing, etc.
    • Providing end-user support for all workstations, laptop/desktop based hardware, applications and services
    • consulting and educate end users in system requirements and design solutions

    Liaise and manage service provides

    Liaise with service providers and vendors to make sure service quality up to the agreed standard (ISP, maintenance etc.)

    Planning and Budgeting

    Special Authority of the Co-worker:

    • Administrative access to all computers via MS Intune.
    • Access to the rooms where the network cabinets reside.

    Requirements

    Educational background:

    • BSc degree in Computer Sciences
    • Certified in networking and Security (CCNA)
    • Certified in Microsoft (MCSE/MCSA or equivalent).

    Technical competencies:

    • Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft windows server and client operating systems
    • Basic knowledge in software defined (SD) networking such as Cisco Meraki.
    • Hands on experience on Microsoft Office 365 services
    • Hands on Experience on Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure
    • Hands on Experience on Microsoft Intune and Enterprise Mobility Suit

    Management competencies:

    • Experience to create Annual ICT plan and monitoring ICT budget expenditures
    • Solid experience in ICT hardware and software acquisition and management
    • Professional communications skills

    Work experience:

    • Relevant four years and above ICT experience
