Research & Development Intern at Sanergy

Job Description

We currently seek a Research & Development Intern in our Kilifi Site to help us move our work forward, improving our process and insect performance while helping to take the technically feasible to scale.

Responsibilities

•  Assist in the design of R&D trials for growing black soldier flies
• Implement R&D trials in the field and oversee data collection
• Make improvements to data collection methods and taking methods to accelerate trials
• Enter trial data and manage databases differently and on time
• Assist in data analysis and report writing, learning and applying statistical methods to data
• Assist R&D Specialists to carry out experiments and research to support in trouble shooting
• Provide on-site input for developing new protocols for the R&D team
• Support field workmen in trial set up
• Coordinate supply purchase/collection for trials requirements
• Liaise with Production planner to utilize materials
• Manage inventory of R&D equipment
• Communicate with field supervisor on trial updates

Qualifications 

• Undergraduate or a masters degree (Science or Engineering background)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Mastery of Excel will be an added advantage
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills on all levels
• Diligent and high attention to detail
