    Accident and Emergency Nurse Incharge

    Role Summary

    Providing leadership and ensuring safe and efficient emergency outpatient and endoscopic services.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Managing staff, duties, maintain high clinical standards and facilitate and participate in audits and skill checks.
    • Efficiently manage inventory
    • Maintain and take care of the equipment service schedule.
    • Participate in preparation of SOPs and policies.
    • Managing patients with life threatening emergency and trauma conditions.
    • Manage staff relationships, discipline and integrity
    • Invention prevention and control
    • Promptly and safely receive emergency patients.
    • Be able to triage patients efficiently
    • Provide emergency care and refer appropriately
    • Handle resuscitations successfully.
    • Assist with procedures in the minor theatre.
    • Proficiently assist with endoscopic procedures
    • Safely clean & process endoscopic equipment.
    • Maintain inventory and handover endoscopic equipment regularly
    • Evaluate and document patient’s outcomes.
    • Provide high quality nursing care
    • Ensure a safe and clean environment for care of patients
    • Efficiently manage outpatient bookings and clinics

    Qualifications

    1. KRN, KRM, KRCHN, BSc. Nursing. with
    2. Higher Diploma in Emergency Nursing.
    3. Two years of experience in A & E nursing
    4. BLS & ACLS qualifications from a relevant body.
    5. Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid Practicing License
    6. Excellent interpersonal, communication & customer care skills.
    7. Computer literate
