Accountant at Scion Hospital

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and cash-flow management, monitoring revenue performance, and working closely with departmental heads to strengthen financial accountability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and review departmental and organizational budgets.
• Prepare and monitor cash-flow projections, ensuring adequate availability of funds for operations.
• Monitor revenue performance and accountability across departments and revenue streams.
• Perform bank, revenue, debtor, creditor and other financial reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of variances.
• Review departmental financial performance against budgets and provide explanations for significant variances.
• Work closely with Heads of Departments (HODs) to provide financial guidance, analyze performance and promote accountability.
• Support departmental heads in understanding financial reports, budgets and cost-control measures.
• Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost control and efficient resource utilization.
• Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support statutory, audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
