• As our Accounting and Finance Specialist, your integrity will play a key role in the preparation of payroll and payment to social contributions as well as filing and submitting authority-related requests. Your professionalism, diligence and sense of good governance will help you in preparing our bookkeeping documents and calculations as well as recording financial transactions in Preferred by Nature’s finance system. Within the first three months you will:

• Use your general knowledge and good adaptation ability to quickly learn how to use our IT systems – Sales Force (operating system) and Finance Force (accounting system)
• Understand the nature and logic of all our transactions, checking expense reports, issuing sales invoices, making payments, and preparing payroll.
• Prioritize all tasks according to tax, salary, and social contributions deadlines.

Within the first six months you will:

• Be responsible for doing monthly / quarterly and year-end closing according to group timelines and with the support of colleagues.
• Enable us to better control payroll and tax by taking over the task from our external advisors.
• Start booking transactions in Ghana (tax, and payroll are done by local advisor)
• Have established good relations with stakeholders internally and externally, consult on more appropriate implementation in current processes with the global team.

Within the first year you will:

• Oversee the audits of Preferred by Nature in Kenya.
• Work independently and cover all accounting work in Kenya and Ghana
• Support the global team for the tax study of Kenya and Ghana by connecting with the local tax advisors, and other tasks, if any.

Important that you:

• Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Have 5-8 years of experience working with finance or accounting.
• Fluent in English – verbally and in writing
• Full proficiency in use of the MS Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Strong general understanding of administrative IT systems, and the ability to learn to work with new programs fast.

Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:

• Have experience with tax reports and working with tax authorities.
• Have experience with annual statuary financial audit.
