    Assistant Director Forward Planning and Development Control

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field (
    • A master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage .
    • A minimum of [insert number] years of progressive experience in urban planning or development control, with at least 6 years with 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
    • In-depth knowledge of urban planning regulations, policies, and development control processes.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., GIS, CAD).
    • A relevant professional certification or membership (e.g., AICP, RICS) is a plus.

    Duties and Responsibilities:-

    • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of forward planning strategies.
    • Oversee and coordinate development control processes to ensure alignment with planning policies.
    • Review and evaluate development proposals, ensuring they adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks.
    • Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of planners and development control officers.
    • Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and the public, to ensure transparent and efficient planning processes.
    • Monitor and assess ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with planning guidelines.
    • Prepare reports and policy briefs for senior management and relevant authorities.
    • Contribute to the formulation of long-term urban planning objectives and development strategies.
