    Associate Program Officers, Prevention

    Reporting to the county program officer lead the key duties and Responsibilities:

    • Offer mentorship in supported facilities to ensure quality HIVS Testing Services (HTS) are provided
      as per the National Algorithm
    • Design and implement efficient HIV identification strategies in the supported facilities
    • Set facility and community systems that promote linkage to treatment for all patients diagnosed
      with HIV.
    • Support the structuring of adherence support systems for improved patient retention in care
      including patient appointment management
    • Ensure monthly forecasting, quantification and reporting of Rapid Test Kits (RTKs) and HIV self-
      testing kits is done according to the national guidelines
    • Strengthen participation in EQA activities (proficiency testing and observed practice) and
      documented at facility and sub-County level
    • Promote structures and implement systems to deliver age-appropriate counseling and
      psychosocial support for patients
    • Strengthen linkage between facilities and communities through supporting the implementation
      of community health strategy including overseeing the activities of community health workers as
      relates to HIV service support
    • Ensure that structured treatment literacy is provided to enrolled clients
    • Assist in developing HIV prevention and care components, processes and SOPs for the adherence,
      health facility and community

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • A Diploma in Social Sciences, Public health, Anthropology, Nursing, Clinical medicine, or Community Development/Social Work.
    • A degree in the above fields will be an added advantage
    • Training in HIV/AIDS care & treatment including HTC (NASCOP Certified)
    • Three (3) years’ experience in a busy HIV Comprehensive Care Centre and/or in the provision of HTS services
    • Demonstrable knowledge of HIV/ART management, diagnosis and treatment procedures of conditions associated with HIV, adherence support and HTC service delivery.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, report writing and presentation skills.
