    Automotive Mechanic (Heavy Commercial & Plant Equipment)

    Job Summary

    • TTS is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, lorries, and plant equipment, including wheel loaders and Forklift equipment, to ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance on trucks, lorries, and plant machinery.
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and carry out timely repairs.
    • Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and steering systems.
    • Service and repair plant equipment, including wheel loaders and lifting machines.
    • Perform breakdown repairs and emergency response when required.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
    • Advise management on equipment condition and replacement needs.
    • Keep tools, workshop, and equipment clean and in good working order.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    • Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
    • Proven experience working with heavy commercial vehicles and plant equipment.
    • Good knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
    • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
    • Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
    • Valid driving license (an added advantage).
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintaining trucks, lorries, and heavy machinery (preferred).

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
