Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

• Performing routine maintenance and repairs of basic biomedical equipment, plants, furniture, instruments and utilitiesin the Laboratory
• Installing basic medical equipment, instruments and furniture;
• Documenting information related to biomedical engineering services;
• Collecting, compiling and disseminating data and on biomedical engineering services;
• Preparing and submitting periodic reports;
• Performing regularly testing of new technology, equipment and instruments;
• Managing inventory of medical equipment, furniture and plants;
• Requisitioning and ordering spare parts and consumables;
• Participating in designing, managing and implementing engineering programmers and projects;
• Participating in biomedical engineering research and training; and
• Promoting and advising on the use of appropriate engineering technologies

Person Specifications

• Cumulative service period ofthree (3) years atthe grade of Biomedical Engineer II or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Registration with relevant professional body;
• Proficiency in computer applications.
