    Business Development Manager

    Job purpose:

    • The Business Development Manager is required, to support the achievement of the sustainability goals, and meet the ever-expanding needs for new employers and engaging new /existing paying employers to become part of the Generation employers’ network.
    • Support the design and implement the Business Development Strategy and ensure coordination with operations and other teams and other stakeholders within GPK to deliver on funding targets. country strategic plan.

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU'LL NEED:
    Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience

    • University degree in business or international development
    • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in business development, donor and relationship management, strategic portfolio analysis and planning in non-profit management
    • Strong understanding of Kenyan employers and industries relevant to job placements.
    • 5 years or more years of related Business Development administration support experience

    Skills And Abilities

    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Ability to manage and hold confidential information
    • Very high attention to detail, especially in managing confidential information
    • Proficient in MS Office 365 applications

    Other requirements

    • Position is located in Kenya and holder speaks and writes fluent English and Swahili
    • He/she must have the right to work in the Country
    • Ability to travel frequently within Kenya, and potential occasional travel in the counties

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:
    Employer Relationships — 70%

    • Engage in Outreach, Field visits, and cold calling to bring new employer relationships and expand Generation Kenya Employer base.
    • Lead Generation, Identifying employer opportunities through referrals, and online platforms.
    • Bring in Employers who pay entry-level employees above the minimum wage.
    • Collaborate with employers to understand staffing and talent requirements.
    • Market research to analyze potential new opportunities , industry trends
    • Collaborate with BDC to develop and Implement sales plans and Initiatives.
    • Identify business opportunities by identifying new potential paying employers.
    • Negotiate on placement pricing with employers as needed and preparing contracts.
    • Schedule routine individual employer feedback to ensure Generation understands issues, challenges, concerns as well as success stories of Generation graduates.
    • Ensure that Generation acknowledges its employer partners whenever relevant and shares their brand.

    Coordination with Internal Team — 20%

    • Communicate important updates and information about employer engagement to other Generation employees.
    • Collaborate with the Operations team to schedule and manage employer presentations for candidates, organizing employer interview days, and coordinating with employers once job placements have been made.

    Brand and knowledge Building — 10%

    • Participate in conferences, exhibitions and other venues as applicable to increase and maintain Generation visibility. This includes brand building at conferences, learning events and other channels.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.

    Any other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
