    Business Strategist

    As a Business Strategist in our esteemed banking institution, you will be a key player in shaping the future of our business. Your role will be to analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and internal capabilities to develop innovative strategies that drive growth, enhance profitability, and maintain our competitive edge in the market. You will collaborate with the head of business strategist and other departments, including senior executives, to ensure the successful implementation of strategic initiatives aligning with the bank's long-term vision and goals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats in the banking industry.
    • Analyze competitors' strategies and performance to identify areas of improvement and gain a competitive advantage.
    • Collaborate with senior management to define the bank's long-term vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
    • Develop and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership, backed by thorough research and data analysis.
    • Create detailed action plans and roadmaps to implement approved strategies effectively and efficiently.
    • Monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic projects.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
    • Prepare and deliver regular reports on the performance and impact of strategic initiatives to the head of strategy and other senior management.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors that could influence the bank's strategy.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
    • Proven experience in business strategy development, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to various stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among diverse teams.
    • Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing strategic initiatives that resulted in measurable business growth.
    • Familiarity with financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
    • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining the bank's reputation and integrity.

    Environmental Conditions:

    This position is based in Nairobi and is unaccompanied. This position is eligible for a competitive salary package and other benefits as per our Human Resource policy. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs, and company policies, procedures, and values.
