    Chef

    Job Summary

    We are looking for a passionate and skilled chef who will cook outstanding meals consistently.

    • Minimum Qualification: Food Production training
    • Experience Level: Entry level
    • Experience Length: 3 years

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    1. Cook various dishes as per recipe, portion control and presentation specifications
    2. Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
    3. Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
    4. Cook food in various utensils and equipments
    5. Check food while cooking to stir or turn
    6. Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
    7. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
    8. Check the quality of ingredients
    9. Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
    10. Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
    11. Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by management
    12. Maintain a clean and tidy workplace
    13. Adhere to the rules and policies of the company.
    14. Show exceptional knowledge of other departments/areas.
    15. Maintain consistency with each and every dish/meal.

     

    Requirements:

    1. At least 3 years’ experience as a chef
    2. Training in Food Production from a reputable institution an added advantage
    3. Should always be perfectly groomed at all times and practice personal hygiene especially while handling food
    4. Should have proper knowledge of food preparation and service of all foods as set out in the menu
    5. Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
    6. Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
    7. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
    8. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
    9. Should be time conscious and always execute his duties accurately and on time, with minimal supervision
    10. Should have valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
