Chief Executive Officer at Emerging Talent

Job Summary: The CEO reports to the Board. The CEO is responsible for the business in its entirety as well as communication and coordination with shareholders and stakeholders.  

Location: The plant is based in Laikipia County, Kenya. Sales are organized from a warehouse and office in Nairobi. During the initial phase of the project the successful CEO will be based at the plant, however, once established the work can be carried out from Nairobi.

Responsibilities:

• Restore the company to profitability and establish healthy company practices
• Change the culture – establishing a code of conduct and values that are upheld. Simultaneously review the current team and build an effective, responsible team
• Implement various main activities, including:
• Execute a sustainable sourcing strategy
• Optimize production and limit leakers
• Review and implement new RTM, logistics and sales
• Implement standard operating procedures (ISO certified) and run an effective commodity business
• Provide (financial) transparency for the shareholders
• Attract new capital together with the investors

Qualifications:

• Demonstratable and successful General Management experience, preferably experience in turnarounds
• Extensive experience in the FMCG sector & preferably the dairy sector. A good understanding of sales, distribution and potential RTM strategies are a real plus.
• Professional experience in sub-Saharan Africa
• Sound professional judgment, personal drive, integrity, initiative and resourcefulness
• Leadership, team-building and motivational skills.
• Kenyan nationality preferred, but not required 

Compensation: Market-based compensation, significant upside in an equity stake to be discussed.
