Job Description

The  Chief  Executive  Officer  (CEO)  is  assigned  corporate-level  oversight  responsibility  for  the Company’s  business  management  and  operations  including  strategic  level  administration, direction and coordination for the company’s activities. With the support of the Board, s/he carries out the company’s objectives in the provision and improvement of health care in a financially appropriate way, and executes policy formulated by the Board to ensure attainment of strategic objectives and the delivery of quality, cost effective mental health care and allied services. 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy.
2. Report to the board of directors and keep them informed.
3. Develop and implement operational policies and a strategic plan.
4. Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
5. Help with recruiting new staff members when necessary.
6. Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
7. Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
8. Assure all  legal  and  regulatory  documents  are  filed  and  monitor  compliance  with  laws  and regulations.
9. Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
10. Oversee day-to-day operation of the company.
11. Communicating, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, and the public
12. Leading the development of the company’s short- and long-term strategy
13. Creating and implementing the company or organization’s values, vision and mission
14. Evaluating the work of other executive leaders within the company.
15. Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments, etc.
16. Ensuring that the company maintains high social responsibility wherever it does business.
17. Assessing risks to the company and ensuring they are monitored and minimized.
18. Champion for the adherence to good Corporate Governance.
19. Ensuring patient safety: The CEO shall play a key role in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient safety measures.
20. Maintaining financial health and stability. The CEO needs to be conversant with financial management practices. 
21. Promoting patient satisfaction.
22. Marketing / Business Development.

Job Requirements 

1. Have a minimum of ten years’ experience in healthcare management.
2. Be a holder of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya or an equivalent.
3. Be a member of a recognized professional body;
4. Have demonstrated high degree of professional competency, administrative capabilities, strategic initiatives and a thorough understanding of healthcare dynamics.
5. Have served in a position of senior management for a period of at least five years.
6. Demonstrate strategic leadership experience
7. Be proficient in relevant computer applications.
